Tolkien Library Store - Original Cloth Bindings

"This specially bound and slipcased edition of the Lord of the Rings has been published to celebrate the centenary
of J.R.R. tolkien's birth on January 3, 1892.
This edition has been limited to 250 copies for Harper Collins Publishers,
each one numbered and signed by the artist."
"This copy number 9/250, Alan Lee"

A beautiful book, quarter bound in blue leather and cloth with the JRRT monogram on the front and rear boards of the book and both sides of the original publishers slipcase.
This single volume edition has silver gilded edges, a ribbon marker bound in, and signed limitation page.
Fifty original illustrations by Alan Lee thru the book.
You can follow how the movies were first visualized by Lee, and carried thru by Peter Jackson, with Lee's assistance throughout the movie's production.
A scarce book, again one of only 250 produced.
Text block is clean and bright, no signatures or writing whatsoever.

A Near Fine copy, slipcase shows one minor bump to the upper edge as well as a few loose threads to the edges, not uncommon with this Deluxe Edition.

Digital photo's available, inquire if interested.
