Copy Number 17 of a limited Edition of only 25 copies, Thornton’s specially rebound edition of “Roverandom”.
This copy has been dedicated by Priscilla Tolkien on the front fly leaf:
"For Gary, Terri and Sam / With the warmest greetings / from / Priscilla Tolkien / Oxonmoot / 1999".
First edition, first original print copy is rebound in genuine green leather with gilt titles and design, limited to only 25 copies.
This is copy number 17 in mint perfect condition.
Only writing inside is the dedication by Priscilla Tolkien, and a pencil not in her hand "N14 One of 25 copies in full leather".
This was probably a gift from Priscilla Tolkien, the daughter of J.R.R. Tolkien, to a member of the Tolkien Society (and his family).
Thornton’s has bound in the original dust jacket at the back of the book, as with the other 24 copies as well.
Finest tooled and titled on spine, front and back cover embossed with the dragons and on the inside edges of the boards, marbled endpapers, with double golden rules on the interior.
With embossed dragon, stating: this is number 17 of a limited edition of 25 copies in full leather.
A very unique Tolkien collectable and very rare to find in this wonderful state.
